I honestly think that Rose is secretly pretty fucking insecure because let’s face it most teenagers are. She probably thinks no one is ever sincere in liking her at all, even despite being able to read most everyone correctly on other things. She second-guesses the people she calls friends and probably has a lot of trouble getting close to people.

The only person she consistently doesn’t second-guess or be passive aggressive with is Dave. Probably because even though he hardly ever means what he says, he still remains incredibly transparent and she knows he’s a huge genuine sap.
